The work was created for Planetarium EC1 in the central Polish city of Łódź, considered the most advanced such facility in Central Europe.
It is equipped with a spherical screen of 14 metres in diameter and a resolution of more than 32 million pixels, ensuring image quality eight times better than HD.
Planetarium EC1 describes the award-winning work as “an innovative blend of classical music with modern visualisations, taking viewers on a journey into outer space.”
The Polish visualisation premiered last year, to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of British composer Gustav Holst. His iconic suite The Planets had its world premiere on November 15, 1920, by the London Symphony Orchestra under Albert Coates.
The composition consists of seven movements, each named after a planet: Mars – The Bringer of War, Venus – The Bringer of Peace, Mercury – The Winged Messenger, Jupiter – The Bringer of Jollity, Saturn – The Bringer of Old Age, Uranus – The Magician, and Neptune – The Mystic.
